Chongqing University follows the two-semester system. New academic year,as well as the first semester,commences at the beginning of September and ends in mid-January.The second semester begins in late February and ends in July.A semester consists of 18 weeks.Each week students have 16 hours of Chinese language course and 4 hours of Chinese culture classes. Local visits are aranged once or twice each semester.
